Tomorrow afternoon Mama and I are going back to My Pet's Brace for my left brace. Then I'll be completely supported and my knees can both start healing. This is very exciting since last night Mama just pet my left leg and my knee cracked.
Mama gets very angry sometimes when she thinks of what I must have gone through when I was younger. But I just lean into her and give her hugs because my life now is wonderful. Except when Dexter hits me in the face. I really don't like that.

This past Friday, my left knee started to hurt bad. Not as bad as the right one did the day I fell down, but bad enough that Mama got me into the vet to see a new doctor who was taking care of things while Dr. Ross (why does Mama giggle every time she says "Dr. Ross?") was away on vacation. The new doctor, Dr. Leone, was wonderful. And she gave us pretty good news, that I didn't tear the cruciate completely this time, but I should get another brace. She was also really excited to see a brace from My Pet's Brace in person on a dog for the first time, after having recommended them to other patients. So Mama spent some time showing her the way it works and the parts involved.
Mama managed to get me an appointment with Clayton again at My Pet's Brace, for this afternoon! So we spent a whole lot of time in the car again. But I got to see Clayton and Anna and Terry and everyone is so nice and gives me pets and now remembers I can't have the treats they have (but this time Mama brought my treats). And Clayton is so smart and knew we would get the same color pink. And he replaced one of the straps and the pads on my existing brace! He even said Mama is doing just fine putting it on me. She admitted that at first she thought she'd have no problem with it because of her veterinary background, but then when we got home she spent a lot of time second guessing herself. He said that's normal. At least something about my Mama is normal. So the best part is I get the new brace on October 1st. And Mama is going to work both of them into the Halloween costume. Well, that might not be a best part. Anyway... I missed dinner with all the driving, and my second dose of carprofen. So I was really grumpy and mean to Dexter tonight. Mama says that "tomorrow is another day" and that I "better be nicer to him tomorrow." I'm going to try to get some sleep. Hopefully I'll feel nicer in the morning. Mama apparently loves something called "Halloween." She says she loves it so much, she wished it lasted for months. Not for a month. Months. Mama started making things for Halloween this past weekend. She has made four top hats of various sizes. Two of them were for me. One didn't work at all and the other one, well the other one was, extreme. Mama says it is "Steampunk" whatever that means, and matched the colour scheme to my brace. That doesn't make it any better. I didn't like the bird thing. So I shook my head really hard and it flew away. Mama says she might glue it back on, or find somewhere else to put it. I think Mama might be a little bit touched. She also made something she calls a "bustle." That's the bustle. And the first hat she made, which she threw out because "it just wasn't right." Mama is convinced she's going to win some sort of costume contest after all this work. She better get me a marrow bone. That's all I'm sayin'.
