So apparently this is a holiday weekend? Mama tried to explain "Memorial Day" to me, but I can't really understand why people do that thing called "war." But anyway... Mama's family doesn't do a lot of parties and Nana was working this weekend, so she's just been home, except when she was out. Apparently she went to see TWO movies this weekend. I don't know why she didn't wait until they were available to watch at home like all the other stuff she watches on the big thing in the living room or on her computer in bed like she does everything else. But she said it isn't the same. And she wanted to have time with Pop-Pop on Saturday and V on Sunday. Why can't she bring me? People are silly about where dogs can and can't go. Dexter goes out every Friday lately. Pop-Pop has been taking him to a "trainer" at Petco. Mama says she's going to try to talk to the trainer because she wants me to have a Good Citizen Certification and a Therapy Dog certification. I don't know if I want to go to school. But I love going in the car, so I guess we'll figure it out if she can afford it and likes the trainer. Mama says all pibbles should get Good Citizen Certificates. Because then maybe people who don't know pibbles will stop being stupid about them. Sometimes Mama isn't that nice. The other night Mama, Dexter, and I were outside and there was this really big soft flying thing (Mama said it was a tuliptree silkmoth). I wanted to taste it. I like tasting soft things. Mama said "No!" and tried to get it away from us. Even Dexter wanted to see what it was. Eventually she was able to get us inside and the moth outside. Mama wouldn't let me go outside. I think she knew I still wanted to taste the soft flying thing.

Okay so Mama reminded me that I have updated in a REALLY long time. Like, I missed telling you all about Christmas or New Years or eating my left brace...
Yeah... Around February I decided that I was done with the braces. I mean all you people were so amazing helping us get them and they worked so well and my knees felt all better. And that left brace was really bothering me. So I started by just taking it off every day. Then one day Mama had to go to the doctor and when she came home, I had taken it off, and well, chewed it a little bit. Mama just corrected me. I chewed it a bunch. Mama managed not to say the bad words she wanted to say. At least she didn't say them out loud. What was really wonderful was My Pet's Brace fixed it and cleaned up the right one for almost nothing and Mama had them back really quickly. But... I didn't want them back on. Mama still hasn't been able to get them back on and she says it's been about three months. I don't know, I just know it's hot now and it wasn't then. But my knees work great now and she says she's just going to keep them around "in case." Also, she's taking me to the vet in about two weeks because she found a lump on my shoulder and she wants to get it checked "in case." I'm not sure I like the phrase "in case." But she says it will be fine. In a little over a month we are going back to the ocean for a week! I love laying on the balcony and watching all the people go by. But they don't let me play with their little dogs. I don't know why, I bark to let them know I'm up there, but they just walk faster. That's no fun. Anyway, I'll try to write a little bit more often. It's just been so excited watching the weather change, and chasing squirrels. Mama just said to stop talking about squirrels because I get myself excited and it is too hot to chase squirrels. Squirrels. |
